We told God how we were feeling and asked Him to fill us whenever/however He saw fit. 

He DID. 

He filled us with a deep sense of His own…

A while back we had a really good conversation with a resident at a senior community (a mom/grandmother) who said, almost in passing: "You never stop being a mom."
